Why Is XRP Your Best Crypto Option For The Next Decade?

The cryptocurrency market is always volatile, but the overall picture of late has been distinctly bearish, with Bitcoin making the most headlines after a steep decline from last year’s record highs.

However, smart investors can always find good ways to invest in cryptocurrency. There are different ways to do this:

·       Look to buy an established major currency, such as Bitcoin, that has dropped in value, in anticipation of a recovery in due course

·       Seek new opportunities with fast-rising new currencies that may or may not work out well in the long run

·       Buy into less well-known currencies that may not be doing so well, but offer good reasons for optimism about their long-term prospects

The last of these may apply to XRP, which in turn would make investing in an XRP crypto card a very smart move, enabling you to cash in on a successful investment and spend on it through instant conversion to fiat currencies in a large number of jurisdictions.

Who Advocates Investing In XRP?

Among those advocating investment in XRP is Motley Fool, which recently compared it with the alternative of Solana. This was based on a scenario in which the investor starts with $4,000 and holds their new cryptoassets for a decade.

The assessment began by suggesting an investment in one of these two cryptocurrencies could be a better bet than simply placing the money in a savings account, where inflation will eat away at its value.

“However,” the article noted: “That choice depends on how each cryptocurrency is positioned to handle the current and future needs of its target users over the next decade or so.”

It went on to set out reasons for XRP being well-suited for a decade-long investment:

·       It will gain if the system is increasingly used as a means of processing payments or using tokenised assets

·       Any expansion of tokenisation will be good news for XRP

·       The global value of tokenisation had been projected to soar from $24.8 billion today to $16 trillion in 2030.

·       Although the current holding of tokenised XRP assets is only $449 million, issuer Ripple is developing new regulatory compliance tools to “make the network a more appealing place to manage and trade tokenised stocks, bonds and commodities.”

When Might XRP Be A Better Option Than Solano?

By contrast, the article argued, Solano, while a very sound bet at present, could run into difficulties in the coming years.

·       Although the current tokenisation is high at $1.7 billion, Motley Fool states that its compliance tools are not something it has “nailed down as efficiently as XRP”.

·       This could mean more risk as regulators and asset issuers may be less willing to issue tokens if there are doubts about compliance.

·       Motley Fool’s verdict is that while XRP is the wiser choice for “conservative” investors, Solano is a good option for “aggressive” investors who can tolerate more risk.

Motley Fool did go on to say there were other investment options that could make higher returns than XRP, but this would involve investing in things other than crypto.

For those who want to focus on crypto, it makes more sense to focus on just what XRP can do, especially when backed up by an XRP card.

How Is The Global Regulatory Landscape Changing?

Remaining compliant with regulations is certainly one key factor in choosing any form of cryptocurrency, as there is always something happening on that front all over the world:

·       Some MPs in the UK are urging an amendment to the Elections Bill currently passing through Parliament, which would impose an outright ban on crypto-based donations to political parties, something that is already in place in some countries.

·       The UK is also creating a new cryptoassets regulatory regime that will make this part of the remit of the Financial Conduct Authority from February 2027.

·       Several countries that hitherto have not regulated cryptocurrency are now introducing legislation, with Pakistan among the latest cases.

·       In the US, developments are taking place at the state level, with Indiana having just changed state law to allow retirement funds to invest in crypto.

While regulation is important, so is the security of systems to prevent hacks and fraud. The decentralised blockchain system of the XRP ledger is designed to offer maximum protection in this area, which can offer extra reassurance to investors.

It is the nature of crypto that currencies will fluctuate in value, often far more than other assets. But if the projections of increased tokenisation are right, XRP will be very well placed to be a long-term success, one that could make the next decade a great one for investors.
